Das Video entstand als Beitrag für die Ausstellung "Lob der Arbeit", deren gedanklicher Ausgangspunkt der Bezirk Berlin Moabit als ehemaliger Produktionsstandort und Arbeiterwohnbezirk war. Inspirierend für die Arbeit von Mohr /Lockemann wurde die Recherche über die Kommune 1, die Ende der 60er Jahre in Moabit wohnte und hier auch ihre situationistisch beeinflussten politischen Aktionen im öffentlichen Raum plante. Die Kommune 1 propagierte individuelle Freiheiten und kommunistische/maoistische Konzepte gleichermaßen. Die Videoarbeit von Mohr / Lockemann besteht aus diversen Einzelbildern. Sie zeigen ausgewählte Situationen im öffentlichen Raum von Moabit und die Protagonistinnen, die dort versuchen, möglichst simultan bestimmte Bewegungsabläufe nachzuahmen. Diese Gesten und Ballettfiguren sind Zitate aus den chinesischen revolutionär-pathetischen "Modellopern", den einzigen kulturellen Produktionen, die während der Kulturrevolution entstanden und erlaubt waren. Lockemann/Mohr untersuchen ihre Wirkung heute im Kontext mit dem Alltag und der (ehemaligen) Industriearchitektur in Moabit. The video was made as a contribution to the exhibition "Lob der Arbeit", whose starting point was the district of Berlin Moabit as a former production site and workers' housing quarter. The work is inspired by the research on the Kommune 1 living here. The group is known for their situationistically influenced political actions in public space at the end of the 60s. The Kommune 1 propagated individual freedoms and communist / Maoist concepts equally. The video work by Mohr / Lockemann consists of various single images. They show selected situations in the public space of Moabit and the protagonists who try to imitate special movements as simultaneously as possible. These gestures and ballet figures are quotes from the Chinese revolutionary-pathetic "Model operas", the only cultural productions that emerged and were allowed during the Cultural Revolution.
